Netflix’s Top 250 Best Movies To Watch In Lockdown, According To Rotten Tomatoes

Image
Everyone around the country is stuck inside playing video games and watching streams right now, and you may be starting to get desperate for content to consume to alleviate the boredom. Well, how does 250 movies on Netflix sound? Gotta make the most out of that subscription, I suppose. Netflix is…generally not known for its top-notch movie selection, as many of the rights to films go to other services or stay on demand where you have to pay for them individually. But they do have a good amount of movies, and are starting to make rather good original films of their own. The problem with Netflix is that it doesn’t have a rating system to actually tell you what’s good. You see a movie or show, you have to Google a review or a rating somewhere. That’s where Rotten Tomatoes comes in. RT has sorted the top 250 movies on Netflix right now by their Tomatometer score , in short, an average of what critics think of them. This is helpful in deciding what to watch, because ...

NCAA- The league is considering releasing a 68-team bracket, according to CBS Sports.

Despite canceling the NCAA tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic, the league is considering releasing a 68-team bracket, according to CBS Sports . NCAA senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt told CBS Sports that the idea has been considered as a way to recognize the 2019-20 men's basketball season and teams' hard work. "We're hearing today there's interest from coaches and athletic directors from that," Gavitt said. "I wouldn't say we've shut down the idea completely, but there is, practically speaking, it's a bit challenging at this moment. ...If you put the field together, you could have teams, depending on that conference's policy, would not be the most obvious choice as the [automatic qualifier]. It's something we're going to continue to look at." One of the challenges the NCAA faces in assembling a bracket is the selection committee's communication. The 10-person group left New York on...

Will coronavirus go away in the spring? Maybe — but it also might come back in fall.

Image
Coronaviruses derive their name from the fact that under electron microscopic examination, each virion is surrounded by a “corona,” or halo. This is due to the presence of viral spike peplomers emanating from each proteinaceous envelope.   As temperatures warm up, public officials and concerned citizens alike are hoping for the same decrease in cases of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) that we’ve come to expect from the seasonal flu. "A lot of people think that goes away in April, with the heat, as the heat comes in," President Trump suggested in February , though he didn’t offer a medical explanation of why that could be. There are several factors that could lead to a decline in COVID-19 in the coming months. But with so much still unknown about this new virus, experts say it’s difficult to predict whether this coronavirus will behave like the common cold or influenza.  The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has said the effects...

The NBA has suspended its season until further notice due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The league announced the decision Wednesday after a player for the Utah Jazz, Rudy Gobert, tested positive for coronavirus. Gobert’s positive test was reported before the Jazz’s game Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the game was then postponed. Gobert was not in the area Wednesday. Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert reportedly has tested positive for coronavirus, and the NBA responded Wednesday night by suspending its season until further notice. The news followed a bizarre scene in Oklahoma City, where the Thunder-Jazz game was delayed minutes before tipoff and then postponed. Starting lineups for the Jazz-Thunder game were announced, but after the game officials conferred, the teams were sent backto the locker rooms and the officials left the court.
