12 The Last of Us Part II
Developer: Naughty Dog
Publisher: Sony
Release Date: Q1 2020
Platform: PlayStation 4
Genre: Action-Adventure/Horror/Survival
The Last of Us Part II was announced during a PlayStation event in December 2016 and is set to release sometime in Q1 2020. Serving as a sequel to the popular 2013 PlayStation exclusive – which, by the way, is on our list of the best zombie games of all-time – the game will take place 5 years after the events of its predecessor and follow the story of an older version of the main character, Ellie (which we now know is the only playable character this time around).
The Last of Us was one of the most beloved PlayStation exclusives of the PlayStation 4 generation, so there is no denying the hype levels for the upcoming sequel. Fans haven’t heard much about the game since the very strange Sony E3 2018 conference. With Sony skipping out on E3 2019, it seems that some news about The Last of Us 2 should be just around the corner, hopefully in the form of an official release date!

19 Dying Light 2
Developer: Techland
Publisher: Techland
Release Date: Q2 2020
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
Genre: Action-Adventure/FPS
Serving as a sequel to the 2015 game, Dying Light, Dying Light 2 is set to release in Q2 2020. Originally announced at E3 2018, the sequel will follow the story of a protagonist named Aiden Caldwell.
Throughout the game, players will have to make a series of choices, each which have unforeseen consequences. Like it’s predecessor, Dying Light 2 will have parkour and other similar gameplay mechanics. The release of Dying Light 2 is still around a year away at the time this article was written, so I can’t imagine an official release date will be announced for a few more months.
However, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about this sequel. For one, the map size is 4x larger than the original game’s map; that means more areas to explore and more people to meet. Secondly, Techland promises to support Dying Light 2 for years, even after the next generation of consoles begin.

24 Call of Duty: Black Ops 5
Developer: Treyarch Studios
Publisher: Activision
Release Date: Q4 2020
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
Genre: Action/FPS
There’s a little bit of craziness surrounding the annual Call of Duty game, after Activision pulled Raven and Sledgehammer Studios off of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 development and handed it over to Treyarch Studios. An official release date hasn’t been given for Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 yet, but it is safe to assume that it will likely be coming in either October or November of 2020 (based on previous years).
Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 will be the fifth installment to the Black Ops series, which began in 2010. The first game was originally developed by Treyarch, as was the most recent game in the series, Black Ops 4. Activision typically gives the Call of Duty developers a three-year rotation between games, but it seems that Treyarch is being asked to step up a year early.

No More Heroes 3 is the latest game in the No More Heroes series. It is the first core game in the series since No More Heroes 2 released in 2010, despite Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes releasing in January 2019. No More Heroes 3 is set to release sometime in 2020.
The game will follow the story of a hero named Travis Touchdown, who desires to become the worlds best assassin. No More Heroes 3 is a very strange game with a bunch of strange elements, so get ready for a wild ride if you decide to pick this one up. Oh, I forgot to mention, Travis Touchdown uses a beam katana to assassinate his enemies, so you better get ready to get your hands a little bit dirty.

43 Tales of Arise
Developer: Bandai Namco
Publisher: Bandai Namco
Release Date: 2020
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
Genre: Action/RPG
Tales of Arise is the seventeenth addition to the Tales series and is set to release in 2020, although we don’t have an exact release window just yet.
The game tells the story of two characters, one from Dahna and another from Rena. Dahna is an advanced world, much like today, while Rena is from a medieval world.
Tales of Arise will be taking a bit of a departure from traditional games, while still paying homage to the series roots. While not much is known about how it will depart, it has been said that the gameplay style will be the biggest change. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until 2020 to find out just how different it will be!

Publisher: CI Games
Release Date: 2020
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
Genre: Action/Adventure/RPG
After ditching its original developer and starting from scratch, Lords of the Fallen has had a bit of a bumpy start but is currently on track to release in 2020. The new developer, Defiant Studios is starting fresh on Lords of the Fallen 2, which is partly what caused the initial delay. The sequel to Lords of the Fallen was originally announced in 2014, but then developer issues caused a three-year hiatus. Then, in 2018, a new developer was chosen, which put the project back on track! Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on Lords of the Fallen 2, as it is expected to release in 2020.
