Kevin Gates on 'I'm Him' Album, Birdman Lessons & Holding Himself Accountable | Everyday Struggle

On the Thursday, June 11th, episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, Wayno and DJ Akademiks are joined by Louisiana rapper Kevin Gates. Gates discusses his upcoming album ‘I’m Him’ and the pressures he’s dealt with trying to create the project. Later in the show, he reveals why didn’t sign to the Cash Money Records and says he learned a lot from Birdman’s savvy business ways during his time with the music mogul. Gates also discusses his past issues, including his struggles with depression and spending time in prison, and how he's found peace with the help of his family and wife. Plus he talks about his friendship with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and discusses some of the criticism he's dealt with publicly before hugging it out with Akademiks.

Black Panther' star Chadwick Boseman dies after battle with cancer

Boseman, who skyrocketed to international fame in the role of King T'Challa in the 2018 blockbuster, died after a four-year battle with colon cancer. Actor Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed the Black Panther on the big screen, died Friday after a four-year battle with cancer, his family said in a statement on social media. He was 43. Boseman had not spoken about his bout with cancer, and his death came as a shock to many . He died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his family by his side. The actor was diagnosed with colon cancer about four years ago, according to a statement from his family. Boseman was a mainstay of the Black Panther franchise and also appeared in Avengers and Captain America movies.
