The Ultimate Barbecued Ribs Oven Style
The Ultimate Barbecued Ribs
Barbecuing
ribs at home can be as easy-breezy as the summer season itself. With
these simple instructions, prepare a rack of smoky ribs with homemade
barbecue sauce that will rival your favorite barbecue joint's.
Season the Ribs
To start, place the ribs on a baking sheet and season them with salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.
Bake Low and Slow
To keep the meat tender, bake the seasoned ribs at 250 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
Make the Barbecue Sauce
While
the ribs are baking, start preparing the barbecue sauce. Bundles of
bacon-wrapped thyme lend the sauce a nice smoky taste. Remember to put
some sauce in a separate bowl for basting, reserving the remaining sauce
for serving.
Baste the Ribs
Using
a pastry brush, baste the cooked ribs with the sauce and let them
continue cooking, basting twice more, for 30 more minutes.
Cool Before Broiling
Remove
the ribs from the oven and allow them to cool. Right before serving,
broil the ribs, basting with the sauce until the meat becomes charred.
Pick the onion and garlic out of the sauce and serve it with the ribs.
