Speaking at times through tears, Vanessa praised Kobe's devotion -- calling him "the MVP of girl dads" -- as she addressed thousands of fans gathered at Staples Center to remember Bryant and 13-year-old Gianna. Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke was gunned down and killed in a home in the Hollywood Hills. Pop Smoke, whose legal name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, was a rising star in the music industry with his second mixtape Meet the Woo , V.2. landing at No. 7 on this week's Billboard Top 200 list. When contacted by Yahoo Entertainment Wednesday, the LAPD would not identify the victim but confirmed officers responded to an incident in the 2000 block of Hercules Drive at 4:29 a.m. Unknown suspects entered the property and masked gunmen shot the victim before fleeing the scene.
