This Is Us Writer Jas Waters' Cause of Death Revealed

 Jas Waters' cause of death has been revealed.
On Wednesday, the 39-year-old writer's passing was confirmed. "The entire #ThisIsUs family was devastated to learn of Jas Waters passing," the NBC show's Twitter account shared. "In our time together, Jas left her mark on us and ALL over the show. She was a brilliant storyteller and a force of nature. We send our deepest sympathies to her loved ones. She was one of us. RIP @JasFly."
A day later, the Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed the cause of Waters' death on June 9 was hanging and the manner of her death was ruled a suicide.
Waters was a credited writer on the 2019 film What Men Want, Showtime's Kidding and Comedy Central's Hood Adjacent with James Davis, as well as This Is Us in 2017 and 2018.
This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman reacted to the loss of Waters on Wednesday, tweeting "This news took my breath away. Jas was absolutely brilliant and had so many stories still to tell. She made an indelible mark on our show and my heart breaks for her loved ones. RIP @JasFly."

Waters discussed her journey to becoming a screenwriter in a 2018 interview with Shadow and Act. “By the time I was 8 or 9, I was like Roger Ebert,” she said at the time. “I had such a grasp on what made a movie good; what made a story good. I’m also a poor Black kid who grew up in an old folks home. So I understand ground-level life, and I bring that perspective to everything I write.”
“From the moment I got here, the rules didn’t apply to me,” she said. “If the basic rules of raising a kid didn’t apply to me, then nothing else really applies to me. So I just had to figure it out. There were several times in my life that I found to be very confining. But as I look back on it, it was very freeing.”

Boseman, who skyrocketed to international fame in the role of King T'Challa in the 2018 blockbuster, died after a four-year battle with colon cancer. Actor Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed the Black Panther on the big screen, died Friday after a four-year battle with cancer, his family said in a statement on social media. He was 43. Boseman had not spoken about his bout with cancer, and his death came as a shock to many . He died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his family by his side. The actor was diagnosed with colon cancer about four years ago, according to a statement from his family. Boseman was a mainstay of the Black Panther franchise and also appeared in Avengers and Captain America movies.
